IWLT Hydrating Treatment Toner

Toner is the last step of cleansing and first step of skin care. Really important step!

2 Points

  • Hydrating Treatment Toner before next skin care step

  • Highly Moisturising: Perfect for 7 Skin and Skin pack

Point 1: Hydrating Treatment Toner before next skin care step

“Toner is the last step of cleansing and first step of skin care!”

For skin care, Toner enables our skin to clean up thoroughly and prepare for the next skin care step. How? Cleansing itself (cleanser, the entire rubbing friction on the skin) actually adds stress to our skin, so the skin becomes sensitive and tense after washing.

While toner helps to calm sensitive skin, it also acts as a BOOSTER. Imagine our skin is like a dried-up sponge. After washing, you skin surface is damp so you don’t think it is dried-up? But you literally washed off the surface of skin only! Inner layers are still very dry like dried-up sponge. If you put a thick cream on a brittle dry sponge, it won't accept it as it isn't 'prepped' for moisture. But if you wet the sponge, the cream will sink in more easily.

Not only that, Toner also helps the skin to absorb more moisturisers. Your skin will stay moisturised longer. Why is that so? Like we said, skin is like a sponge. Do you remember how a wet sponge picks up water so much better than a dry sponge? That is because water molecules are highly attracted to one another than anything else. It’s the same thing with skin. “Wet” your skin first with toner, and it will draw in more of whatever you put on next. This is also why you should apply skin care products right after cleansing, while your skin is still moist.

So, how exactly does a IWLT toner help skin absorb more moisture as a good BOOSTER? The water-binding ingredients(humectants) such as Glyceryl Glucoside and hyaluronic acid (appears as Sodium Hyaluronate on IWLT toner ingredient list) not only hydrate skin but also function as a delivery system for other ingredients. Hyaluronic acid expands the volume in the outer layer of skin. Just like a sponge expands after becoming wet. With more volume, more ingredients can be absorbed. By as much as 5-10 times! Glyceryl Glucoside particle is 30,000 times smaller than Hyaluronic Acid, which can absorb to your skin very quickly and prevent any loss of moisture after washing your face. This is why saturating the skin first with toner helps your skin absorb more moisturiser.

One tip I would like to share is that I have stopped using towels after washing my face. Firstly, Towel makes your skin fully dry again, which is really No No for your skin hydration like we said above. But I also found towel is usually rough after several washing, which often causes friction against the skin. Since it is often hung in our bathroom near our toilet, it can be unhygienic too. Usually I will use my hands and pat, pat, pat the Toner onto my face! You don’t have to make your face fully dry, a damp face is good enough to start your Toner application with cotton pads.

Point 2: Highly Moisturising! Perfect for 7 Skin and Skin pack

IWLT Toner can do HIGH moisturising with Sodium Hyaluronate! Highly moisturising Toner is perfect for #7SkinMethod and #skinpack, which has been a big trend in Korea.

7 Skin Method?
7 layers of your Toner are patted on and layered in succession (skin and Toner are the same word in Korean). The background story is that the moisture level of your skin can be increased effectively without the heaviness or greasiness that may come from traditional creams and oils. It is also a great way to hydrate all skin types, providing the optimal balance of hydration and skin’s natural oils with a subtle dewy glow and firmer skin. This 7 skin method first took Korea by storm when actresses and models revealed their secret to luminous skin is “7 skin method” in Get It Beauty - most famous K-beauty TV show (yes, the one our Serendi Sparkling Pack was introduced!).

But, the important thing is that you are not supposed to choose Toners which includes “Alcohol” (your face will dry out after 7 layers), “AHA/BHA” (we are trying to soothe and hydrate here, even though they are good exfoliating ingredients, 7 layers may cause irritation to the skin), and “Thick syrupy Toner” (when we want to achieve light moisturising only).

That is why IWLT Toner is so perfect for 7 Skin Method! The lightly texture of IWLT toner is perfect for multiple layering! The Botanical Formula based in bio-technology is gentle enough for #7skin and #skinpack. Key ingredients are Glyceryl Glucoside and Sodium Hyaluronate (it is made with both Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. In this combination, Vitamin C is stable so it can also work during day time. It enhances skin tone, texture and complexion. It is also excellent to moisturise till the deep tissue), which deeply moisturise your skin with stickiness!

How to do 7 Skin Method?
For the first layer, wipe the skin with a cotton pad drenched in toner first, and pat with your hands for the rest of the 6 steps. Use only around a coin’s width size of the product! An excess amount will not allow gentle and effective patting to take place. In between, make sure you have some break, so that your skin can absorb all the moisture from each layer and ready for the next layer. 7 is not the magic number for everyone, especially in our humid weather! Personally, I do 2-3 layers, even though I used to do 4-5 layers during winter in Korea! I recommend to start with 2-3 layers first and customise the process by adding additional layers until you find your personal equilibrium! Especially if your skin is oily, troubled and have lots of sebum, minimise cream products and apply multiple layers with watery toners or essences!

If you have more time, try #skinpack! We are giving IWLT strips(FDA approved ingredient, LOHAS certified 100% cotton) as a Bundle deal gift this time, which I have been showing in IG story. So try together! Just like 7 Skin Method, it maximises its moisturising effect without stickiness! You also won’t have to worry about post-trouble (if you have encountered breakouts after using rich mask packs!). Skin pack helps to hydrate the skin, calm troubled skin, lower the skin temperature (biggest enemy of enlarged pores), and is great for swollen face. If I have time in the morning, I like to do 5-10min #skinpack. During night time, I like to do it longer, like 30 minutes! That bouncy supple feeling after #skinpack is so addictive!

IWLT All in One Glow Concentrate Ampoule

Brightening (we call “whitening” In Korea) product launch finally! When I was testing other brightening products from several brands (If you have seen my IG stories from last year you will remember!), IWLT newly released this All in One Glow Concentrate Ampoule. They sent me some samples and I loved it immediately!

    • How light it is and how fast it absorbs to my skin (I had an issue to thick and rich formula from different brands, which eventually caused breakout)
    • 4-in1 care - Calming, Brightening, Moisturising, and Wrinkle Care at once
    • Perfect booster before Sheet Mask and Moisturiser
    • Hygienic with its syringe case (no exposure to Oxygen and you can adjust the amount)

It did even out my skin tone and brightened up my dull face. I felt my healthy glow came back after using this. I think I couldn’t survive my Sydney trip in early March without this product, which soothes my skin a lot after lots of sun exposure everyday. Since it performed better than other brightening products that I have been testing, I wanted to launch immediately.

HQ designed this glow ampoule very carefully. To minimise Oxygen exposure, they used this syringe-like case. The ampoule will only come out when you press, so there is no chance of Oxygen exposure for the remaining ampoule inside the case.

<IWLT founder has been sharing her product development journey with the photo above>

Its Triple Hyaluronic Acid, Snow Algae, Snail Mucin, Fermented Complex, Niacinamide, and Adenosine will do smart 4-in-1 care! One box has 3 syringes (10ml x 3), which was enough for my 6-8 weeks usage (can be different by individual).

<Farah and Eilynn also tried about 1 week and they loved the result! Bing started to try with me about 1 month.>

<We have sent out to 7 consumer testers and they loved it. This is their review summary video. We will have more coming in soon! Check out our Instagram ( highlight or feed, you can see their real time reviews!>

IWLT All in One Concentrate Treatment Mask

IWLT All in One Mask Concentrate Treatment Mask was featured in Female Singapore as one of the best Korean face masks you need to own!

IWLT All in One Treatment Mask uses premium grade micro fibre which maximises adhesion to the skin (better adhesion means better nourishment for your skin! It delivers the same amount of ingredients to the skin till the end thanks to the capillary phenomenon with micro size fibre tubes. This smart sheet can control the releasing amount thanks to the structure! IWLT also factored in the right amount of air flow, so your skin doesn't feel suffocated. No matter how wonderful your ingredient is, it matters what medium you use to deliver those ingredients. There is a reason why IWLT invested in micro fibre sheets.
