🏮 Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner (21 Sep)! To continue our yearly tradition, we've specially curated high-quality modern hanbok from Teterot Salon, which you can sport for daily wears too, in limited quantities only!Designs from Teterot Salon have also been featured in the Korean TV series, Mystic Pop-up Bar as worn by Hwang Jung Eum!

We immediately fell in love when we first came across these modern hanboks by Teterot Salon. With this great interest in mind, we contacted the HQ and curated the best designs for summer season fittings for our Ksisterfam!

A hanbok (in South Korean) refers to traditional Korean clothing or dress that is worn for semi-formal or formal attire during traditional occasions like festivals, celebrations and ceremonies. It is also typically characterised by vibrant colours and simple lines without pockets.

Hanboks were first used back in the Goguryo dynasty (around 3BCE) where most people were nomadic. As such, they were designed with wide bottom dress and comfortable top to ensure easier movement!

With traditional Korean hanbok evolving over the years, hanboks aren't what they used to be in the current 21st century. The modern versions are designed with a twist to ensure individuals are able to incorporate it with their casual clothing like sneakers, jeans, jumpers and more!

The South Korean casual hanbok label, Teterot Salon is known for its modern take on these hanboks while retaining some traditional elements within, for example, the top or dress is still being worn traditionally by placing its left front fabric on top of its right part (refer to HOW TO WEAR below). They strive to ensure that their hanboks should be able to mix freely with any clothes and should be comfortable to wear anywhere, anytime such as overseas or just a casual cafe date!

Teterot Salon aims to diversify itself by bringing a new experience to everyday fashion amongst stylists and adventurous trendsetters, through her designs that are combined with a mix of traditional and modern elements. This makes these modern hanboks suitable for any occasion, from parties, weddings to everyday wear!

Mysterious Blouse comes in white & navy with a v-neck look and slim fit cutting around the waist area. Wear it tucked in or out depending on the style and mood you're going for!

Made with 100% ramie fabric. Ramie is one of the strongest natural fibers and is best known for its durability and ability to hold shape as well as reduce wrinkling.

White clothing usually is a little bit sheer, it is always recommended to wear nude colour undergarments 👍🏻~

Interesting Facts: Did you know that in the past, a person’s social status could be identified by the material of their hanbok? During the summer period, the 양반 (yangban - members of the highest social class during the Joseon Dynasty) wore hanboks made of ramie while commoners wore hanboks made of cotton or hemp.

Painter of Light Skirt is a beautiful traditional piece with peony prints and a flattering silhouette that cinches the waistline that also helps to give an illusion of longer legs!

To dress it up, pair it up with your favourite pair of mules or opt for your sneakers or sandals go-to for a more relaxed take! You can also match it with Mysterious Blouse or simply any top of your choice~ Look elegant and stunning this Mid-Autumn Festival!
